Snake Cellphone Games

In 1998 Nokia secured a deal with whoever owns the rights to the snake games, and they started putting snake on virtually all their phones, as part of the bundle. Considering that millions of people use nokia cellphones, its easy to understand how this lead to the comeback of the classic arcade game of Snake. They have released many different versions and we'll take a look at the most popular three:

Original Snake - Started out on monochrome phones. Really basic version similar to the 1970s release, with simple midi music and 8-bit graphics.

Snake Two

This included some extra features and gameplay, more levels, better music, and many of the phones which featured this had larger screens with better color and resolution.

Snake Three

Just as the name suggests, it was a 3D version which even included the option for playing multiplayer using the Bluetooth. The graphics are better too, looking more like something from Dreamcast.

The cellphone companies are still putting out new games all the time, recently the contract for Tetris and Pacman was grabbed, and you can bet that will be popular too. I never really got into playing cellphone games, but they are certainly more fun then sending text messages, because at least this is entertaining.
